Hi, today I will show you how to make a low-cost BLDC motor ESC and this ESC will run on 5-volt and 12-volt. If you want to do this then read my article till the end.
I took some components from the old circuit to make the controller and made this circuit with those components.
I am using two ICs to make the controller. These two are very common ICs. You can get it on any board. And I will say it is available on any board.
I am using, 555 timer ic,
and drv11873 ic
Where Can I Get the IC?
You all know that the 555 timer is available in any store. So I am not writing much about 555 timer IC.
drv11873 IC It is commonly found in any Appliance Cooling Fan and Desktop Cooling Fan and Server Cooling Fan as well.
Let me tell you one thing, drv11873 ic but IC is not included in all types of fans, usually, we use normal CPU fans but it is not included in it, it is included in very expensive CPU fans.
You have to find out which fan can be found in it. Open it to see if it has this IC in any fan.
But I did not make that circuit but I made the circuit differently. The circuit I made works very well.
In this IC you can input as low as 5 volts and as high as 16 volts
The only reason why I use this IC is because using this IC there is no need to use any mosfets because it has six mosfets inside.
The MOSFETs that are in it, these MOSFETs cannot carry more than 1.5 amperes current, if you carry more current than this, the MOSFET will be bad.

How to Make Circuit Diagram.
So let’s build the circuit. I told you first that I am using an IC here to make the circuit. And this IC is being made exclusively for BLDC motors. It is programmed within. And if you use this IC you don’t have to use any Arduino uno.
- 4.7k resistor
- 1k resistor (5)
- ceramic capacitor 104pf (6)
- electro capacitor 220uf 25v
- LED Light
- Drv11873 ic
- Ne555 ic
The lowest input voltage of this circuit is 5 volts.
The maximum input voltage of this circuit is 16 volts.
If you give 5 to 12 volts to this circuit it works very well 16 volts works but there may be a little problem the IC may heat up.
I have used a NE555 IC here so will make pwm generate circuit with this 555 timer IC. Which will control my whole circuit and MOTOR.

Can we run BLDC motor without ESC?
Yes, we can run a BLDC motor without ESC but when that BLDC motor is running it will not have any torque and it cannot be used for any professional work so ESC is very necessary to run a BLDC motor.
Can BLDC motor run with drv11873 ic?
Yes drv11873 ic IC is made for BL DC motor. Because I made it myself and did a lot of research on it then I found that yes BLDC motors can be run by this IC. This IT is a minimum of 5 volts. And the highest can take 16 volts.
