You can use this ignition system in any other car or any other project.

First of all, let us say that there are two types of CDI, one is AC CDI and the other is DC CDI. Today we will build an ignition system using DC CDI. To activate DC CDI, you need to provide an external 12 volt supply.

How Does a Pickup Coil Work?

You take an iron rod, and wrap some copper wire around it. When you hit it with a magnet, an AC voltage will come out, and that AC voltage is a pulse. That’s how a pickup coil works.

This ignition coil is from a Royal Enfield Classic 350 bike, and all the components I am using are also from a Royal Enfield bike. I am using a simple 12-volt battery to run the entire system.
